We had the timing down right to see Santa at the zoo on Saturday. There was a small crowd to begin with (the 33F temperature probably had something to do with that), and we went in the afternoon, missing the morning rush from when Santa arrived for a holiday parade. Joshua had hockey in the morning, so we would have missed the parade, anyway, and the smaller crowd meant getting to ride the train with no line (and first dibs on the caboose), and being able to spend plenty of time with Santa. So much better than fighting the crowds at the mall!
